Hi Caroline,
Glad to hear we shared the Obama excitement! Our hopes in US are now high for changes to what has been a terrifying 8 year ride! But my wife and i still feel like at least a nice long visit to UK :>)

Thanks for ordering my book (good idea about sending OBAMA a copy...wonder if he'd get it if I just address it; 'White House, Wash., DC). Actually I have a friend who knows him from Chicago neighborhood and am hoping I can send him a copy via that route.

PS. And looking forward in '09 to buying/reading your Kill-Grief novel, especially after following your blogs and learning how you immersed yourself in research. Black President demanded I revisit the 1960s and beyond, but going back to 1700s mindset as you did is awesome!

It's wonderful to hear a first-hand account of the excitement! So many of us here in the UK are delighted (and relieved) at the result. The victory speech was absolutely phenomenal - I feel like moving to the US now!

I ordered Black President from Book Depository a few days ago so hopefully it will turn up soon. Are you going to send Obama a copy?
